Issues involving stolen or compromised accounts, and/or accounts that have been transferred from one player to another in violation of the User Agreement-and the time it takes to investigate and attempt to resolve them-greatly detract from the time that NORSEMAN's customer support staff have to provide quality customer service. Accordingly, NORSEMAN must remind all customers that:
Account security-whether it be password protection, running virus checks, disabling file sharing, or any other element of making sure accounts are not stolen or compromised-is the sole responsibility of the account Subscriber.
The Subscriber is responsible for all use of the account to which they subscribe. The consequences of misuse of any account by any individual will be attributed to the Subscriber and the Subscriber will be held liable for all actions undertaken while accessing the account.
Any and all stolen and/or compromised accounts that are reported to NORSEMAN may be suspended in order to conduct an investigation.
Characters, experience, and/or items lost due to account security issues, server malfunctions, hacking or other third party actions, or connectivity issues will not be reimbursed.
Any customer found to be involved in an account theft may have any and all of his/her accounts disabled and the individual banned from The Realm Online. This includes accounts found to have knowingly received items stolen from a compromised account. Prior to taking any action against accounts reported as compromised, we will conduct a thorough review of the accounts and determine, at our sole discretion, the appropriate course of action. Accounts will only face disciplinary action based on information gathered through our investigation and not as a result of external allegations.
NORSEMAN will never ask for your password at any time, not in-game, not by telephone, and not in e-mail. Do not disclose your password to anyone, even if you believe the request comes from an authorized Norseman representative.
