I've been selling my bag, unequipped and full of dungeon junk, to the NPC the same way I always have, and I get a Hideous Fatal Error. Signing back in results in my bag being gone. It could be that the vendor is buying the backpack in the crash, but I'd rather say it's been dropped.
I think it's dropping because there was someone else in the shop with me (I don't want to name names) and when I signed back in he was leaving from right where I was, like maybe he had picked it up. I asked but no answer. More importantly, I saw someone earlier asking if anyone had lost a Finvara Backpack because they had found one laying on the ground by a shopkeep. I assume they crashed and dropped their bag as well.
I had this issue some time ago. Run Wlaunch.exe in the ratlabs folder on your harddrive and let the game check for file issues (patching) log in your toon after and in your home STRIP it bare and drop all INCLUDING the backpack on the floor. Log out and close the client. Restart and pick up everything.. equip the lot and try… fixed the issue for me. seems the game sometimes bugs chars or items
I had the same thing happen to me this morning. I had alts on the screen and didn't see the backpack drop, so I assume the shop keeper ate it. I also tried CF's steps and the BP did not come back.
Hey DLJester - thanks for the report and apologies for the crashes. We've heard about this crash from a number of people and it's definitely something we're trying to fix. We haven't yet nailed down exactly what is causing it but believe it might be a bug inside the ancient activeskin UI code that the realm is using. We'll continue trying to nail this one down.
Easy enough to replicate, just rapidly click sell when selling backpack in sell menu. Game crashes and pack sells with the contents. Its happened to me a few times when i think i missclicked sell and i click again.
Can you record a video of it happening and share? I have not been able to reproduce this locally.
Does it only crash if you do it ‘quickly’?

Just a quick update on this issue. We've identified the bug and we're working on testing a fix. I'll do my best to get this wrapped up and out to you within the next few weeks.
Still rough to just not have it delete the backpack with current client?
I've given into the no enchanted backpack life on my looter.

As a workaround, if you click and drag the backpack to the vendor instead of using the full screen Sell Items screen, it won't also sell the backpack.
Etherealize is too good though.
This should be fixed with today's update.
