I suppose it is a buggy working because it would be very strange it to be the intended way : it is not possible to switch weapons during fights.
My thief begins the turn with ranged attack by throwing daggers. Monsters get to melee range. The next turn, instead of attacking with throw dagger again, select USE and then a regular melee weapon (in this case, a regular dagger) from inventory and then WEAR. I suppose that this SHOULD use the turn (or at least one of the moves in it) to arm the new weapon, right? Well it does not happen. No new weapon is armed. Tried to UNEQUIP the throwing dagger too but again, the weapon is not unequiped either, it just stays there.
Thinking it to be a problem with just throwing daggers, I went on testing other weapons. None of them worked. Shields either. Armor pieces too. In other words, the instruction to change gear during fight is just skipped entirely, it is ignored. Whatever you start the fight with, you end it with. I started one disarmed, just with punching, against a group of newbie rats, for the sake of testing. Having no skill in punching I could not lend one only hit, of course, as expected, and since I got plenty of armor on too the rats could not damage much either. Since it is not possible to change gear at all during fights the result was a fight that would just go on and on forever as fleeing was not possible and nobody would ever die. Had to just close the game window for it to be finally over.
To summarize : it is curently not possible to change gear at all during fights, nothing can be equiped or unequiped. Is this intended?
