Really not Windows 10 64 bits friendly. I found the administrator bug to just start the game and then it updates and closes right after. doesnt seem to patch anything. replay sciw and it restarts downloading patches… over and over. i changed the directory 4-5 times. wont do a thing.
It really works best if not installed into the default area as Program Files is a somewhat protected area in modern windows.
If you install somewhere like c:\games\realm you shouldn't have to run as admin (although may, of course).
I personally have windows 10 and have c:\games\realm and c:\games\realm-secondacct and run neither as admin.
Additionally, you should be running wlaunch and not sciw.
Windows 10 64 here too, works smooth as butter. The "administrator bug" isn't a bug. Run wlaunch not sciw, that's why your game isn't updating
As others have said, this is due to running sciw.exe instead of wlaunch.exe
As a general rule of thumb, you should always run wlaunch.exe
