Now that we are about 2 months into launch of the new server I thought it would be a good time snapshot to get thoughts from the community. Here are mine.
************
Things going well:
Hot Zones, and Gold Sink. Economy for Weapons & Armor.
Server stability, bug fixes.
Activity overall of staff versus the past.
Increases community engagement by staff.
**************
Things that seem to be coming soon:
Prestige system (reset to level 1 multiple times)
Cash shop
*************
My personal thoughts/issues:
1 Myst resistance on mobs are too high, most dungeons and content turning wizards into CC every other round characters. Honestly when I finish a dungeon and have casted mass berserk or stun/hold 200 times by the time I finish I want to pull my hair out.

- Trading system is needed, bad. There is a lot of purists who don't want to see this, but literally and I mean literally the ONLY upside to not having a trading window system is to allow scamming, which is what less than 10% of the population. So you risk turning away new players, wasting time figuring out how to do a trade, making everything more complex and time consuming trade wise, just so you can support a minority section of the community that wants to lie and scam? When this game goes mobile or goes any further it will need a system, and its a feature I think should come sooner than later, even sooner than a prestige system. This is a RNG loot / trading based game.

3 Cash shop is holding everything up cosmetically. I personally feel this should have been ready for re-launch or some type of founder packs should have been made. I understand this system would take time, that's why I think having fin, NB, or some existing dyes in loot tables would have been a good gesture by the devs to keep the community cosmetically engaged while we wait..

4 RNG / no loot feels bad man - You only get like 6 coppers for doing an event and some items cost like 1200-2000 coppers. Factor this with the fact that casual players sometimes clearing dungeons and getting nothing it feels bad. I'd like to see you get 4-6 coppers off the final boss or final fight in most caves, this would be a simple change but would give some type of currency or predictability to farming. This could be taken a step further in the future with some kind of loot currency for gambling or getting better items, overall taking more RNG out of the game and making people feel like they gained something even when they find nothing will feel better long term. The more systems/avenues people progress the more engaged people are.

5 Hot take - Legacy and Nostalgia Items. This is more of a hot take and personal feeling, but I think it's odd that you need to pay to play the legacy server, its now a stand alone server, it has hardly anyone playing it, they aren't supporting it. The only change they've made (dye shop) has been broken and not fixed for 2 months. Why not make it free as well? It's like making someone pay for home made popsicle and then giving away DQ Blizzards for free lol.
What is your biggest likes and dislikes so far? To be fair the devs have been pretty good lately giving us an insight into what is being worked on and when
I pretty much agree with everything you said. +1
I'm all for trade windows and personal shops. I really want to see something like an ebay system where you can set what you're selling and you don't have to be online to sell it. That would be awesome.
I second having some boss fights drop coppers. Yes. I think especially the higher harder cave fights should drop some coppers. Places like Maze, HC, even SP, have the boss fight drop some coppers. The harder the cave, the more should drop. A lower cave should drop a few, but some place like Maze, you should get maybe a hundred at the end.
Myst resist needs adjusting.
Cosmetic stuff, we need it bad. I'd like to see rare dyes, more house deco, interesting fun patterned clothing and stuff. We need stuff.
I’d enjoy trade windows, sure. However I don’t agree that the only people who don’t want them are scammers. There are tons of middle-persons in this game who have a long history of it and love the feedback they get and the feeling of being a cornerstone of the community. If you take this away from them, they are less socially engaged. If trade windows are removed for convenience, the dev team needs to consider other ways for trustworthiness to be valued in the community.
I'd be interested in the Coppers if we could buy gear from the copper shop. Right now it's just deco and my house is trashed enough.
Having an option to buy gear with copper would make it so that we don't have to only reply on RNG to get top-level gear. Grinding a dungeon to the boss will net us a few coins and we can save 'em up to get upgrades.
Fulorian should not drop any coppers, though. He only takes about 5 minutes to clear (sword emoji)

I laugh at this. Think about this for a second, its not about "trustworthy" as much as it is a popularity contest and the ability to do the job. Let me explain. For example. Player "X" steals Enid's Blessing from Player "Z", Player X admits to this, then openly wants to sell the Enid's Blessing. a well known "MM" a trustworthy member of the community, helps the scammer player (dishonest) sell the confirmed stolen goods. Now in real life, a person of ANY integrity, would take the stolen bicycle, or laptop that is KNOWN to be stolen, and hand it back to the original owner. Only in Realm can such open dishonesty be protected by the "HONEST" middle people. Take a look at that psychology for a second. I understand not all scams can be proven, but I've seen even since the launch of this server confirmed stolen items being sold. If the way middle people operate in this game is considered the right way to handle things may god help us all. This again ties into my loathing of the scamming system and the popularity contest that protects it. Middle people operate more like large corporations only performing the action with little true moral regard to what is going on, confirmed scammers should not be supported by middle people at all, ever. Once again shows its not about honesty or integrity, just putting another transaction on their feedback list. Let people support the community by creating guides, helping new players, finding rare or mysterious items, running events, not performing an morally void task of handing one item to another player. IMO*
I agree with your list, Realmboy. Getting some tiny sliver of coppers for a successful dungeon run would be nice, more to look forward than copious drops of mundane hats and wands/orbs/rings.
Hey Guys
Thanks for the great feedback. I certainly agree with a lot here especially WRT loot rates and myst resists. These are things that we hope to tune in the near future!
1) Add 25-200k gold to the end of each dungeon based on difficulty and make improvements to the Gambler's Den. The additional influx of gold can be dumped into keys from the NPC and this would also add additional rolls for loot from the Gambler's Chest people have been wanting i.e. the ability to hunt anywhere to get the items they want indirectly.
2) Make a Wizard prestige specialization a control wiz that basically sacrifices this SDM into increased Myst duration and success. If a Wizard wants to have excellent crowd control it should be his primary means of killing by sacrificing direct damage.
3) Push the MTX shop hard to add monetization for development, advertising, and making this game even better. I might be alone in this, but I wouldn't mind putting more money into the game through cosmetic or low impact MTX and have traditionally bought highest tier supporter packs and lots of cosmetic MTX in other games I felt invested in.
just my 2c
I agree with pretty much everything you've said (mostly) - a few things to add or query though:
Trading - a large reason why the realm has remained popular among its circles is because of the community - as people have mentioned above; trading, and middle people are a large part of that. It makes it worth your time to meet trustworthy people, and in turn rewards notable trustworthy players with the opportunity to MP deals. It makes players spend that bit extra time getting to know one another which I do think a direct trade system would impede upon. Regarding new players and this system it may seem daunting and alien though and I do agree it will not be and is not to everyone's taste. Overall I'm fairly impartial on this one but if I was forced to decide between trading windows or the current system I'd probably stay with the current one. I have had bad experiences with "trustworthy" middle people. Just as I've had good ones, really the issue is not spending the time to bond with the right people. I currently would only trade with people I know in big deals - fortunately for me that's most of the high level/very grindy players so perhaps I'm biased.
Drops - I agree that RNG drops can be very frustrating, grinding for 10-15 hours and not seeing a single 600 weapon, while seeing someone get 2 in their first couple runs in world chat.. it is a real kick in the teeth - it's not like you haven't put in the time or effort it's just how it is. The real kicker is when both of theirs go to FIVE safely and when you finally get yours it blows up on 2x. There should be some safeguard against bad luck just as WoW has introduced bad luck protection. Whether ratlabs choose to do the "increased luck the more runs you do (which resets upon a valuable drop)" system or adds a tradeable currency to a dungeon loot vendor somewhere I've got no idea, as ultimately it could really mess with the economy if done incorrectly. But I'm not sure how else to work around it -perhaps half the current drop rate but add in a currency to cover the lowered drops maybe? - for example if you get 1 per 100 runs currently, make it 1/200 but make it so you get enough currency to buy one every 200 runs. So over that 200 run period you'll get the same on average, but 1 will be guaranteed arunteed instead of pure rng. Pure spitballing but hopefully there will be better ways of targeting specific items other than just grinding gold.
Anyway, I enjoy reading well structured feedback like this and overall I agree with pretty much all of it +1
I would like to see some kind of thing for decreasing the blow up chances. Right now, it makes no sense. I can chant for a week, never blow up a thing, but if I get a new weapon, I've had one blow on me. Then I have to go find another. It should be based on your sdm, I think. But still, there seem to be issues with it.
I don't mind MP's for trading. But I would still like to see a system where we can sell the stuff like Ebay and we don't have to be online to sell it. I'd like to be able to just list what I've got and have someone buy from my shop. Then I'd start selling some of my stuff.
