Being jumped in the overworld

It is quite rediculus how you cant even get across a screen before being jumped into combat. Sometimes you flee and are right back into a battle with something else. Characters following get seperated by this too.

Then you have Berserkers who jump you and kill 3 people in your party before you can even flee. What is the point of this. It makes fighting in the overworld pointless. Yesterday I had multiple deaths trying to fight in the desert. Everyone over 3k hp. If I go to a dungeon it brings the risk of death to near 0.

Please balance this out.

I know that this has been a thing forever, but honestly it's just one more reason not to hunt above ground anymore. There is really zero appeal in my eyes. You can't get real loot, you have to compete for spawns instead of having your own spawns like dungeons, and you have to deal with getting jumped unlike dungeons (since they did disable that)

So what's the appeal? There are dungeons in every level bracket at this point, so really I think everyone should just hunt in caves.

I hate being jumped like that. I have had toons die just trying to walk to a cave. They jump due to alignment and HP. But they will often launch an immediate kill shot on you. There is no way to win it, you just get killed. I'm not a fan of it, and really wish they would disable it.

This has been part of Realm as far back as I can remember in '99. I'm really glad they changed the dungeons to not have monsters jump you in caves (they could before.) Of course, monsters will not jump you if your health (or possibly level, open to correction on this) is higher than theirs. I use this to my advantage when I'm power leveling new toons in places like the Killing Fields and The Downs. I can string a lot more fights together quickly. At higher levels, most things will not jump you other than knights/evil minions in the desert. It gets better eventually, and you can pick out what you want.

@Xenoz Do you remember getting jumped by the devils in FHP and you'd get stuck in a wall, they'd have to have a mod come and tp you out. LOL, I still remember those days. It is much better in caves now without that. I really wish they would just make it optional above ground. Like the pvp option. You should be able to just turn it off for the days you don't want to be jumped and turn it on if you choose to. That would really solve it.

What about a passive ability for Adventurers that they don’t get jumped by NPCs, which fits with their class name anyway. Others can purchase Potions of Indifference to get this for a duration available for a price of 50k per potion?

Meh. You can flee and if the NPC kills you you have Insurance to cover not losing any items. I feel like ideas like this sound good at first but you quickly water the game down to where there's very little risk even left in it. Guess that's an old timer talking who appreciates the risks involved in gaming and feeling like most new games don't have that aspect and now even this old game is slowly becoming a carebear haven. PvP is gone and risk in PvE is virtually non existent so let's just get rid of the very last bastions of it!!

I'd be a fan of the potions being a Level 6 Alchemy item after Prestige goes through and not available through the shops.

TGCid has a point, though… my insurance is only about 15k a death, and that's assuming that they can take me. A potion that would cost 50k wouldn't be worth it to me.

At least have a cooldown between jumps they dont have to completely nerf it. It just goes from challenging to annoying real quick.
