As this topic came up in Discord, I want to have a thread to put some thoughts on it down. I'm putting it in feedback, as I can't prove it's a bug (see reasons below.)
Myself and JasonATater both reported seeing random spikes in Death Wish, from KKs and Flame Daemons in Heroics. We both indicate the character which was hit had DMP by way of a Soldier's brooch, but still got hit for 16k+ on a Death Wish. Understandably, KK/FDs in heroic have huge health pools (30k+ often) so since DW is health based, there's the potential for huge damage.
Why I can't prove this is a bug: because there's simply no way for me to screenshot the amount of dmg taken, and prove I was wearing DMP at the same time. It may not be a bug, it may just be, with the amount of HP the mob has, and even through DMP, there's going to be times (however low %) that you just get bad RNG and take huge damage.
IF, that's the case, then it brings us to the actual feedback:
- There should not be mechanics in the game which, based solely on RNG, will one shot kill even very high endurance characters, with absolutely no way to prevent it. If it happens when that char is low health, cause they got hit in the round, so be it, if it happens to a lower endurance char, so be it. But DW should not be hitting for 16k, 17k, 18k damage, through DMP and creating "Boom, your dead" walls within content of this game. So if that's "working as intended" then, obviously, this is feedback worthy, and not a bug.
