Hey there everyone. This suggestion is about the Hot Zones and when they switch. Right now the switch is at 12:00am EST, which means it's 9:00pm PST when many west coast players are playing. My suggestion is simple, we should move the server time to PST or switch the Hot Zone shift to 3am EST. Having them switch over in the middle of the night/early morning seems better than shifting over in the late evening/middle of the night.
Any thoughts on this?
Really,lets move it to 3 am est..,cuz who cares about east coast time people..,get bent,suits me fine the way it is,life doesnt revolve around u west coasters ya know
Sure… but 2/3 of the playerbase isn't east coast. When I get on at 8pm I get to run one dungeon for an hour and then I move on to the next one and can't get a groove. Most East Coasters are offline by midnight (or they're winding down) so them being able to stay in their Hot Dungeon a bit longer is no hurt. To be fair, this really only affects people who stay up on the East Coast until midnight so they can start the next dungeon. Those people now can stay up three hours later and enjoy the current hot zone dungeon longer (except for on Mondays when the Hot Zones suck)
PS: It's already bent.

I'm fine with pushing it further, I usually forget that Hawaii and Alaska exist because I do shrugs. Anyways, why not push it to 5am EST then, that would make it so Hawaii/Alaska gets the 9pm shift that the Pac gets currently and the update happens when most of us are sleeping.
Short of setting up a East/West coast server I can't think of any other way to get that balanced out.
I don't dislike this idea. I think the mods have a good idea of when their peak hours are, and a different time for the hot zone change could probably benefit a lot more than it would distress. Maybe worth a poll in the future?

Alright, so here's the updated suggestion, let's get the switch-over to happen at:
5:00am EST
2:00am Pacific
1:00am Alaska
11:00pm Hawaii
10:00am U.K.
7:00pm Australia
Short of the AU difference, this would get most of the other locations during their off-hours (except for some from HI and some from UK)
so, for it to be more convenient for people in the west coast, you'd make it more difficult for other zones? there are no end of games that use 00:00 GMT to 'switch over' which makes it hell to be a player from the UK…
EST is roughly middle between GMT and PST (+5 hrs / -3 hrs) providing for a large proportion of the likely userbase… moving it to PST limits it to pretty much US only players, moving it to GMT limits it to mostly european… no matter WHAT it's changed to, people will be unhappy - just like you are now that it's not in your timezone - it's not in mine either… the only real advantage to where it's set at now, is that it's in an acceptable (not ideal) range for a large(r) proportion of users than if it were in any other timezone probably.
Well, the time I suggested earlier today is when the game is at its lowest population. The time that is is now seems to be nearing close to it's highest population. It makes sense to me.
