Heroic Snake Pit - The pit of despair

Obviously this effects snake pit a bit as well, but the problems with the cave are amplified immensely in Heroic.

Observe, 3 runs I did today:

1st run - No deaths - just shop food - Final chest has 600 coins
2nd run - No Deaths - just shop food - final chest has 5 mana crystals
3rd run - 7 Deaths (explained below) - just shop food - final chest has 5 mana crystals

The issues with that final chest speak for itself. It's a demoralizing punch in the face 90% of the time. Now, the 3rd run, I ran into the last two fights that happened to spawn 3 furies/2liches, then 3 wyrms/hell snake/king cobra. Since the last two fights are random spawns, it makes the cave incredibly frustrating. If the fight before chest happens to spawn 3 high level wyrms as mine did, the difficult goes up 3-4 times what it would otherwise be. Wyrms are practically impossible to myst, hit really, hard, have tons of life, and do huge poison damage.

The first two times, that fight generated only 1 wyrm, the last time, 3. It goes to the bigger problems in the Realm people have been talking about forever. It's RNG, on top of RNG, on top of RNG.

RNG for the cave spawns to be reasonable, or immensely difficult. Then RNG for drops. Then RNG for those drops to not blow up. With the deaths from the last run, I ended up totaling about 10k in today's runs. I just don't think this game has a future, other than the brief "Oh hey, Realm is back, let's check it out" influx on players, with such an unholy, soul crushing, grind, being the main part of "end game" here.

I know this is a feedback forum, so I'll focus on my feedback. Please, for the love of god, stop RNGing every single mechanic in this game. Also, make the last chest in snake pit not suck.

I didn't think Snake Pit dropped anything… I remember someone telling me that it wasn't worth my time and to do the Anvil instead.

I guess the EA is there, but weapon drops are going to take you 10-20+ runs to get thanks to RNG.

I also clear the whole cave, so obviously yes, I killed the Keeper too.

Yes, right now, Heroic Snake Pit chest is just another room–I clear the whole dungeon when I run it, as even Keeper is a chronic letdown (only EA I ever got in there dropped off a regular King Cobra.) As you say, it's a Realm-wide issue: it's just more glaring in Snake Pit because the guardians and riddle make that chest seem like a big deal. Meanwhile, Fuloran's hoard is eternally packed full of scrolls, but it doesn't sting as much because there's only two fights to get there.

I like the idea to just put a lump of gold in end chests. Nothing wild, but something that'll either pay repairs and insurance (if you're prone to dying) or turn a profit (if you're not.)

Any chest that far into a cave, and hid behind 2-3 very difficult fights, should always contain something. Gold, mana, guaranteed shop food (ADM gear or mundane helms, etc…) whatever, but something. With a chance at rare loot.

The chest at the end of snake pit is probably the worst designed spot in the whole game. With the possible exception of GH (who the hell designed a cave that takes hours to get through and his multiple guaranteed deaths for no reason whatsoever?) Ugh…

I remain here in futile hope that cave/loot redesign is high on the GMs list, as if something doesn't change soon there's no way I can keep playing.
