More items / Active spell window

I think there needs to be more items in the game. Not necessarily good items, just stuff to add a little variety. Weapons/Armor and such. Would also like to see an active spell effect window that can be turned on/off that shows what buffs/debuffs you currently have active. I always miss the notifications that my shift or shield wore off, if they even pop up.
