Multiboxing Noble Citizen

As a player who just tipped their toe into the Noble Citizen realm, I have a suggestion.

Currently, the cost is $5 a month for each account that is Noble. With the game a bit geared towards multiboxing, that $5 a month can quickly amount to $20-30 a month based if you run 4-6 toons.

I would suggest to see if a compromise can be met, in the realm of say $5 a month per account or $15 a month for up to 6 linked accounts. To be honest, the idea of $30 a month is quite steep for a casual player as myself. I love the updates that the Realm is seeing and the direct interaction you can have with the workforce behind it, but $30 (or even $20) a month is not sustainable to grow the community.

$15 a month would keep this game in-line with other MMORPG's such as WoW and FFXIV. Asking more than that to at least be on the same playing field as other people who run 4-6 toons may push casual players away that are on the fence to becoming a Noble Citizen in the first place.

In summary, if a system is put in place that allows some cost savings for multiboxers, you may be able to grow the support of the casual players who are discouraged of spending so much money per month to support it.

Even $15/mo for 4 linked accounts and $20/mo for 6 linked accounts would be better as far as growing the game. Deals like this would ultimately create more revenue.

I 100% agree with this notion. I would happily pay more for a discount. $30/mo (or $300/yr) is just too much for any game.

I don’t see them doing this. It’s instantly money out of pocket. Will changing to this model increase growth? Possibly, but the majority of people who solo or duo don’t plan or want anymore characters. The only people they would help are the hardcore people who are already getting their money’s worth. There is just too much free content in this game to allow for this model. People hit 1000, unsub and do free dungeons. How many other games can you do that? What they should provide are far cheaper yearly subscriptions for each character, cuz then they got you for a year and it’s a win win.

I'm not sure I agree, the one who spends $10/mo for their two characters is far more likely to spend an addition $5/mo for all six accounts than they are to spend that same additional $5/mo for just one. I would have to imagine the number of people buying the Noble citizen account for all six characters is rather low.

The more appealing the sub option the more people will sub. So if you can obtain two people paying $15/mo for every one you lose currently paying $30/mo you break even. So the hope would be to entice more people currently paying 5 or 10 to pay 15 than people you lost paying more than 15 currently paying now less with this system. Which is a risk level we can't know since we don't have hard numbers on how many users have multiple subs. Could be that nobody pays for more than 3 accounts and it's a win all around, but I'm sure that's not true.

A side note this could also solve the issue of per account billing. I'm not 100% on this but I'm fairly certain that the way it's done now you are charged a separate $5/mo charge for each account. So doing something akin to this or at the very least having your "website account" charged once per month for each Nobel Citizen account linked to it for the grand total of that account with the same renewal period (not sure how they could do that with the current system) could actually solve a small headache on the consumer end for having to remember 6 different payment dates for some players and actually save the company a small bit of money since as far as I understand credit card processing isn't actually free and is a percentage or minimum amount on a per transaction basis.

Well, if it matters at all, this is the exact situation I am facing this week. With my noble subscription expriring, I am going to ride my accounts as being free for a bit. I simply can't justify spending $30 a month.
If it was $15 a month though for six toons, I would let the subscription ride each month as that price is more palatable.

@Khego If that is true then offering discounts for more than 2 accounts makes even more sense from a business perspective.
