Until the new dungeon it had never really occured to me because i had felt like i was doing the best i could.
So i have a number of wizards and i have made a number of Master wizard pieces of gear,of course always having to make the choice of which school i wanted to be most proficient in.
Like i said until the new dungeon everything was mostly a breeze with multiple well geared wizards and there was never really a particular reason to choose one school over another because for what was available at the time was efficiently completed with any school set. None the less some schools are better some places and others better for other places.
So having master gear it is expensive, time consuming and you feel like it should be the best because you put in a good bit of work to get it,however if you happen to choose the wrong school, you will do less damage than had you chosen the school that aligned better with the dungeon you are doing. And because of this there will never be an ideal set for wizards to use, thus essentially requiring us to need 3 different sets just to be ideally prepared for what may be thrown at us. Thats triple what thieves and warriors need to feel good about themselves.
Thieves and Warriors do not have a choice, their life is simple, they will never feel bad or regret about making the wrong choice.
I propose a consideration for making all Master Wizard gear 20% across the board for all schools with no required choice, aside from the helms which are the only cosmetic difference, but also should have the same 20% to all schools respectively. If to be made effective,Preferably on all existing and future models if possible please. Thank you.
I agree but for a different reason than the cost of acquiring gear. If my gear heavily buffs one school of magic then my gear effectively removes all my other spells from play (because they aren't worth casting in comparison). This makes the game less fun. For example, consider buffing one spell by 300%. A super spell sounds great until you realize the game is balanced around the strongest spells and therefore you'd never cast anything else. There is a place for gear that buffs only one spell school but I think it should be limited. Maybe a few different lightweight weapons that you can carry with you and swap in combat.
There is nothing wrong with crafting it is working great. Just craft multiple pieces of gear.
There is only one choice for Wizard Master Gear. Necromancy.
After giving it more thought,i still agree with what ive said, but it boils down to a 30% difference which overall is likely not THAT significant..,its not a make or break situation. It does still leave you potentially feeling as if though perhaps another choice may still have been better. Thus perhaps somewhat disappointed. It's not make or break, but i still think 1 set would make life simpler overall. Can always just continue to make additional cool cosmetic helm versions for variety, but with same stats so you always feel good about the choice you made.

Interesting feedback, speaking for the Dev Team, I believe our goal is to begin requiring users to specialize their abilities. End game wizard may be a Necro / Elem/ Thaum / or Sorcerer and they should be super effective at whichever they choose. That said, we likely need to come up with a specialization reset thing so people who end up not liking their choices can re-spec their "sub-class". I have coded some back-end stuff to enable sub classes – we just haven't actually use it yet.
