I have been running quite a bit of ToD since launch, and frankly I am disappointed.
The first few days it was pretty good. Books dropped off all the enemies and from the chests at a pretty frequent clip. Maybe things were dropping too frequently? Whatever the reason, there was a small patch a few days after launch that completely nerfed the drop rate.
Since then it has been really painstaking to run the dungeon. I want to like ToD, but it just feels cheap. Nothing drops anymore off the enemies, putting it in an Anvil-like state where you just hope that the chests have something in them, which they typically do not. There is nothing more frustrating than running ToD 3+ times consecutively with no loot. If I dedicated this much time to any other dungeon in the game I would surely get at least something, probably several things.
And then there's the fact that it costs me $30/month to even have the ability to run ToD. I get that I could have fewer subs and group up with people, but there isn't anyone running this dungeon. It is really cool that there are new skills, but they are put behind this paywall and that sucks.
As far as the actual content goes, I like it. It is refreshing to have a cave that requires some strategy. I have heard a lot of complaints about AMA and the difficulty of the dungeon, but I think it is suitable. I just wish that more people would group up for it, but right now there is pretty much no reason to run it.
Pretty much my 2 gold pieces. If anyone else has any thoughts or suggestions I'd love to hear them.
I ran it once before the nerf and completed it. The dungeon isn’t fun, the puzzles are silly, it’s way too long, and apparently now it’s not worth the gold that you lose to run it. There is no reason for me to run the dungeon again. If some rare weapons dropped or something worthwhile I’d be all over it.
Hi! I have been planning a similar post as well, but I am more wondering if ToD is dropping as intended, because there certainly does seem to be a problem with the drop rates from my sample size. It's hard for me to know since my sample size is so small (only about 6 runs since the suspected nerf). As Mush pointed out, the drops were plentiful in the first week or so, and then there was a very noticeable drop. I have had 0 drops in 6 full clears of ToD. It takes a long time to run that dungeon!
I personally think the dungeon is fun, and as we prestige more it will certainly get easier! It's good to have a late game dungeon like this which is very difficult. There's nothing wrong with the puzzles. I don't expect Portal or Assassin's Creed level puzzles in TRO.

I'm in a similar spot. I really like the dungeon. I subbed 4 accounts to run it and completed it. But having heard the feedback on drop rate I can't convince myself to do it again.
Unfortunately, It's better RoI to run F2P and just do HC/DP/World Bosses.
Doing 3 runs of ToD and getting nothing feels bad,but the majority of stuff in the game drops in an over abundance thus most things have little to no value,considering that« ,i approve of the crappy drop rate.
They need to add Master Reagent drops and expert gear to the loot table. The books that drop were never worth very much and the baldric that drops isn’t very desirable. Right now the difficulty and RL money required to run it isn’t worth the effort. I would also add in bosses for every level that have good drops and maybe have the 4th level have multiple bosses. I don’t know if the plan is to eventually add in grand master reagents here, but in order to compete with the best two dungeons HC and DP (who have multiple bosses =P) there needs to be drops that are desirable.

I'm good with keeping the books and baldric very rare. But blank ToD runs are brutal. Some consolation prizes (Reagents, Weapons, Skill Baubles, anything really) could take the edge off.

I dont believe that the loot drop rate in ToD was fixed or even considered.
