This is sadly very frustrating and tends to be dominated by highly experienced players, to their credit, however seeing feedback of the same players killing 2-3 of the bosses within a couple minutes of each other, when many players need the reagents & benefit from the skill baubles. I heard a suggestion recently from a friend that sounds like it has great merit which is to pop all the world bosses at the same time - probably a few seconds apart. With 25+ bosses in the realm at the same time, this would give more players a shot at finding and killing at least one of them.
This would allow more of the player base to enjoy the fun and benefits of prestige and at the same time without detracting from the dominant boss killers ability to continue farming.
This needs to be a thing because alot of people i been playing with over a year cant make any headway. Dont even go there with the silvers because its not good enough. Theres no reason people should be in trade selling 300 plus skill baubs when so many need them. do what walter suggested and POP em all at the same time. This will make Alot of people happy!

Yes I agree, maybe the spawn all at once thing will help. Or even up the Rate at which they spawn? Another solution would be to make all world bosses 100% drop a bauble. It sucks fighting people who do nothing but world bosses and camp at locations with 6+ accounts and wait for spawns. You have to get very lucky to find one before them, then even when you do they don't drop a Bauble. You could increase the amount of World Bosses that appear and lower the rate of the Fabled drops which is fine! Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to get a good fabled item off them, but the baubles are the main thing we go after. Then you get like 3 in a row with no bauble drop and it's frustrating and discouraging.

I hadn't even thought about the 50% chance of a bauble. Normally it would be fine, I think. But I don't think that when the boss/bauble/reagent system was implemented…I don't think the powers that be envisioned just how "competitive" it would be. I'm not really sure they understand just how big of a problem it is for people trying to get skill baubles now. It's a nightmare. It's 24/7, multiple people competing for them, including what i suspect to be "teams" like husband/wife or friends, etc. I've stayed up a full 24 hours just to see and yes, some are just never gone. It can seem like one or more of the "better" hunters has gone away, only for you to quickly realize that no, they've just gone to the bathroom and are still here to get the next 3 out of 5 bosses before you can even blink and open your spell book to leave that cave that you're in. if you have to leave a cave, it's already too late. people are already on them. it's really that fast. if it wasn't completely necessary to advance skills in a reasonable amount of time(silver shop price drop helps but isn't enough) i wouldn't hunt them at all. it's not worth the frustration, blood pressure spikes and fights it causes. i'm glad gimli read this thread and responded. i hope something significant happens very soon. i would hope this is very high priority. if it's easy enough to implement, I can't think of a reason to wait.
a friend just ran heroic daemon home and heroic forgotten dungeon. didn't skip a single fight and not one bauble. i just ran heroic imp haven, nothing there either. i think a switch didn't get turned on or something. because this is worse than the boss drop rate and worse than hoping to get lucky finding a boss. hopefully something just didn't patch right. cause…this isn't it.
so it seams its harder now to get skill baubles. Did several runs on HFD and HDH fully and no skill baubs at all. Is the rate for them low or is this a bug? devs please look into this asap thanks
We are monitoring drop rates closely. When it comes to adding new content that has permanence (i.e. we can't just reset everyone's items every day) we have learned to start with conservative rates and gradually tweak them every patch until we are happy with the numbers.
Also keep in mind that there were a limited pool of world bosses for the entire server to share. Now everyone in the server can farm the dungeon at the same time. This will have a net-positive increase on the rate in which tradeable skill baubles enter the economy.
i can understand the first part of that. and i can say that since the patch to now i haven't seen one skill bauble drop. a friend who has probably run even more heroic dungeons in that time has also zero. so, i get that you must start conservatively but i think you can already bump it up some. in that same amount of time, if bosses still dropped them, i would have at least 3-5 of them. and my friend? probably 6-8 of them.
as for "the economy", these changes, either way, will have little to no effect. people weren't selling skill baubles that dropped from bosses. people looked to buy them here and there but rarely would someone sell. for whatever reason the top 10 or so hunters were just hoarding them. and when they would sell them it would be around 300k each. a price that wouldn't allow people to buy very many of them anyway. inflated 300k items don't break economies, glowing helmets do.
so, if baubles just drop in caves, at hopefully a better rate than zero for a day, it won't hurt the economy at all. i would think most people would just be keeping them for themselves. for their own toons, friends, guild members. it's not like i'll find 4 baubles in 10 hours and run to market to sell any of them for 300k. i need them for myself. they only thing that MIGHT bother "the market" is if the people that have been hoarding them, suddenly, decided to sell a bunch of them. but even if they did, it wouldn't affect many. some other really rich guy would buy them and that would be the end of it.

Walters post pretty much sums up how my wife and I feel as well. I brought this issue up in the past and it was just looked over and a Boss tab was put in almost like sweeping this issue under a rug. People really want to see their toons just progress. We all as a community put a ton of our real time into farming these things and just want to see a return for all the effort. I know all you devs do the best you can to make everyone happy but this effort i'm sure will go along way for the better.
power just said it, for me, better than i can. apologies for how i post. but i feel the same way. i get the worry that people will gain skills faster than they do now but it's not that much faster. certainly not as the drop rates are now, it's worse. and i'm putting in all the work/time and prestige so that i can get our guys advanced to where we can do things like ToD more easily/quickly. and to just have fun. i would like to eventually be able to log on and have fun. not have to have a task or a goal constantly. there's enough of that now and it is needed. but i'm not the guy that will stop paying and playing just because most of my skills are maxed. no. to the contrary, that's when it will be "fun" for me and i'll be here just as much or more. the whole "people will get what they want too fast, then leave" i think no longer applies to games like this. heck, there are people here now who seemingly log on just to stand in town in their glowing helmets and/or to find more glowing helmets. haha. so, put the fears of destroying markets and players leaving to rest. it's the realm. nobody leaves.

why not? people keep telling me heroics only take 15 minutes and aren't worth a skill bauble. why wouldn't he be able to do both at the same time? or, more likely what he meant, run many heroics AND take some time to farm konge. but you know that. you just don't like the idea. i think he took time to chant a fin bp for me too. so, ya…his whole statement is invalid. you caught him! case closed!
I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but in general feel like this thread grossly overstates the issue.
I was never a fan of the WBs being sole sources of things and I posted this way back in the test server forum when I tested them when they were still only on the test server. Having another route for reagents and baubles is something I advocated for before they even went live.
However, this thread acts like you're gimped if you aren't generating multiple skill baubles a day and I steadfast disagree with that. You can actually be quiet effective and strong with the base build points given per prestige. Yes, getting more is good, valuable, and everyone should have a path to it. I just disagree with this idea in general that you're neutered without having so many skill baubles that you've got everything to rank 7 within a month of prestiging.
Especially with the addition of baubles via silvers and the (now) reasonable cost of them there, I really think this is being blown way out of proportion.
Disclaimer: I'm not really a WB farmer. I've killed a few here and there and probably collected maybe 20 baubles all time (what's it been 2 years since they patched in now??) this way. I'm not a guy who has everything and is sitting on high and looking down at everyone struggling.
