Bind on Equip

I really dislike the BoE mechanic. One of the things i had always liked with the realm was the free trade either between your own accounts or with other players. I will not be getting any noble accounts due to this limitation. How do you guys like it ?

I don't really have an issue with it, I do however wish there was a warning before you equi an item.. bound Imp Talons to me with a mis right click

I don't like BoE, was able to pass down items to alts, now I can't, and I do not thinkit is going to help anything, but rather cause people to leave again.

Rellicus

I dislike it immensely. If you are running multiple accounts its a huge pain. Also, not being able to trade slightly older gear to some player who could put it to use kinda stinks. Once I am done with that Familiar Thaumaturgists Hat, it's vendor bait. For some of that gear, which has a very low drop rate (it seems), this makes it infuriating to complete a whole set. Not only that, most of the gear is fairly niche. Either the drop rate of the BoE stuff needs to be greatly increased, or just remove the binding mechanic altogether. Or you could have a spell/npc who can unbind it. The spell/npc would strip any enchants and/or cost a lot as a penalty.

Gimli has said there are plans for unwanted bound gear, but has not been specific. The guess at this point is that it will be convertable into a crafting material.

Also, low level bound gear isn't necessarily useless once you outlevel it due to prestige, right?

I think binding is healthy overall for the game, but would also say that I don't think every new item should be BoE. Sprinkle some non-binding items (perhaps not set related gear? or at least some non-set gear?) here and there so that we don't really end up where everything except starting jewelry is BoE.

Imagine

Items bound to a character are equipable by all other characters on that same account, so its not like you cant pass items down to alts, you just cant pass them to other accounts to be used. I think it is a good tactic to help manage inflation and item hoarding.

JudgeMentark

I think it's buggy too. I bought a Mirage Claymore (unbound), handed it to my chanter on another game account and permed it. Handed back to my hitter and low and behold it's bound to my caster's account….. Both toons were wearing shields so they couldn't have equipped it anyways - but for surety I promise my caster didn't attempt an equip.

Eel

i think that you handed an BoE item to get chanted/permed (unbound) will binded it to the chanter and be useless but if the hitter uses it first bounded) (then it can be chanted/permed……

Brancrese

I dislike it, but mostly because I have to run multiple accounts to play two chars. If they found a way to let us use multiple chars on the same account (even if the costs is the same), then I'm ok with Boe stuff, a bit more.
