Would it be possible to release all of the damage calculation methods? This would make it easier to optimize builds, calculate trade-offs for certain gear, etc. It's hard to guess how certain spell damage is being calculated. It's clear that some have random factors built in while others do not. Knowing the mechanics and damage calculations would also make it easier for players to suggest balance changes. There are a large number of spells that are just flat out not used at all.
