Try to remember that even if you don’t win the lottery you already are getting tokens that you can trade for gear. They’re called gold coins.
I'm a packrat. I rarely sell my stuff. I plan on stuffing every single one of my houses till they break. Like chances are, I have whatever people are looking for, but I'm not selling it. I want to see how much stuff I can save up. I rarely sell, I might help a n00b once in awhile, but selling for me is rare.
My thoughts are that the drops for weapons and armor both are considerably too low. I get that you wouldn't want to flood a market, however if by the time you find an item it is long past it's usefulness you also have a problem. I believe that the weapons and armor should be dropping much more consistently and frequently than they are right now. With the exception of the end-game gear.
If this were my game, I would want players to gear up and level up to end game within a respectable time frame and then catch them at end-game with gearing and heroic content. I have been playing for 1 month and have 3 characters 300 (or near) and am working on the 4th and have not found anything much more than vendor food. (aside from a couple BoC's). By now I should have at least 1 character equipped with level-appropriate gear sets and weapons.
At end game I would expect to git a bit of a grind / wall to get the end game stuff and proceed to end game content. It isn't much fun to hit that wall immediately upon character creation. risk/reward and all that.

Yes, that's been my experience, as well. I have not personally found a full armor set. I've had to buy a few pieces, and I still don't have a full set of anything yet. I was hoping to find the pieces on my own. But unless you grind like crazy, I just don't see it. And I don't have the time to always grind for hours in one place, too. And even when I try, I'm still not finding what I need. It's way too low. The weapon drops aren't as bad, but still need adjusting. The armor drops are awful. And even if you manage to find one piece of what you need, if it's not chanted, you might blow it up trying, and then you're out of luck again. Then there's also the bound issues. If you bound it to one account, but you need it on another, you don't really have it.
