Enchant & Perm Improved Armor

So wanted to run a few tests. Here is what I did:
Bought 3 high boots from a dye shop

Regular High boots have 15 AR
First Test: Casted Enchant then IA on boots, the AR went to 25
Second Test: Casted Perm then IA on boots, the AR went to 25

I was always under the assumption enchant for overall effects and perm for item effects. It turns out that Enchant with improved armor also did "item" effects.

Equipped boots from first test, AR went up for toon
Equipped boots from second test, AR went up for toon (similar amount as first test).

would love to hear any feedback.

So it now to me at least, feels safe to say when folks sell 3xO on an item. Last spell being an enchant, we could go improved armor, shields or regeneration. I think it is nice to keep it that way.

Up untill a month ago I was enchanting IA, turns out perm does the same job for half the mana.

This is probably a bug. Devs have stated in clear teams at various points, the intention is for Perm to work for Item effects only, and Enchant to work for Character effects only. You should not be able to enchant any item effects, at one point all of them were working, and you could enchant weapon effects, etc… This is no longer the case, perhaps IA was just missed when they "fixed" this.

In the end, obviously since it's lower mana cost, you want to Perm IA anyway, and the following is true:

Perm: IA, F, I, V, E

Enchant: Str, Dex, Regen, Immo, All Shields.

Hopefully I'm not missing anything.
