Few questions...

  1. Is there a guide on dungeon levels? My wife and both play, I double box and made an AIEW and an AS(orc)W while my wife made a throwing elf thief. We are 25th level and could use some hunting advice.

  2. My wife picked up some spellcasting and cast shift, it only lasted one hit. She is all dex, did she just get unlucky? Potions of shift seemed to last much longer.

  3. How does she look for traps, she has looked at all doors and chests and never had a check for traps option? Does she need to carry lockpicks?

Thanks.

Check out realmserver.wikia.com - classic dungeon options at your level include Imp City, Ogre Caverns, and Thieves Hole (you'll have to grow into several fights for TH, however.)

Shift will last longer with higher levels in Sorcery and Meditation. She can also cast Extension prior to a fight and then, if she casts Shift first round, will get a longer duration one. Potions have a fixed duration (I believe) so will be better initially, and have the advantage of being usable before combat, but eventually she'll be able to take advantage of an extension + shift that will last her several average fights.

I believe it happens automatically if you open a trapped door/chest - there's a chance to disarm if you have the skill. I still mostly disarm traps with my face.

I never thought it was very worth it to get Disarm Traps skill, at least not early on. It's mostly a waste of build points. I found it didn't really work that well unless you were either Master or GM in it. I wouldn't waste the points until after you have your most important skills first. And by then, your health will be high enough so it doesn't even matter much anymore.
