Now that we're two days out.. how does Prestige work?

I don't have a background from MW, so I was just curious about this whole process.

Can you prestige multiple times and pick new abilities?

Are skills retained when you prestige?

Are spells retained?

When you prestige, do you pick whatever your ability is immediately? Or will you find books / skills to train it later?

What does it mean to be able to take a skill to level 9 as your prestige ability? Does that skill automatically raise or are there new things to find to raise it?

When a wizard picks a school for their prestige, say sorcery for the enchanting bonus, does that raise their sorcery to level 6?

If I select poison bolt AoE, do I get this spell immediately? Does necro skill level raise?

Can they raise the skill of other schools even though they picked one school for prestige spell?

I wish this was all of my questions, but its a good amount. The prestige system seems like a cool way to progress characters, I just want to understand it so I make good choices.

You can only prestige on time for now. We plan on allowing additional prestige bundled with additional content packs

Yes

Yes

We are still working on this - it may be a hybrid where the skills are bought but spell books or ability books are found

With the first content pack, and the first prestige, you will be able to take some skills to level 6. New spells and abilities will require rank 6.

When a wizard picks a school for their prestige, say sorcery for the enchanting bonus, does that raise their sorcery to level 6?
You will need to train sorcery to level 6 first and then train the ability for the special ability as a separate action

If I select poison bolt AoE, do I get this spell immediately? Does necro skill level raise?
You need both necro and poison bolt

Can they raise the skill of other schools even though they picked one school for prestige spell?
You will get 30 build points which you can allocate to any combination of skills or spells. Depending on your class, some things will cost more than others

Thank you for the reply Gimli.

Would you consider adding throwing level 6 for thieves?

You'll be able to get skill 6 (Veteran) for throwing, but there are not currently any planned abilities for that skill level on daggers.
