The WB Cheating Should Seriously Be Addressed.....

It's no surprise that certain people will defend this issue. And I know what a cheat is.

Khego please stop cheating.

Make me ;)~

An easy solution to this problem is to stop announcing the spawn and deaths of the bosses. No one will know how quickly they die, by whom, and when to hop to one of their many alts camping their locations.
Force it so that if you want to hunt world bosses, you simply need to go to the zones they spawn and run around randomly, hoping it’s there.
The people that want to keep the announcements are the ones camping the spots, so they know which alt to bring up quickly.

That’s not a terrible idea, or at least stop announcing the lower level WB and leave those for people who are actually leveling in the zone. Skill bauble prices would skyrocket for sure, but if there was a vendor where you could sell/trade skill books & trinkets you don’t need for baubles, that might counteract this.

There's no cheating going on, stop whining and/or getting baited. On the rare occasions that I'm online and a WB that I intend to go for happens to spawn, 9 out of 10 times it's mine and that's the end of it, even with my poor 0.33 ping I get for playing from Europe. Get good or go home.

Lol, great attitude…. "on the rare occasion that I'm online" …. "there's no cheating going on"…. Since you're always online, and always fight for a WB, you'd know right? You can take your 0.33 ping, and go home… LOL

I'm not sure I believe there's really cheating happening - although we've seen cheating plenty of times in Realm's past so it isn't a ridiculous thought - but I would say this:

The WB system is obviously a hot issue.

It would be interesting to hear from the dev team on if they are happy with the system. Are they happy with the controversy around it? (some controversy is good - is this within that or beyond?) With the number of participants? Economic impact? etc.

Genuinely, and not sarcastically. I'm not sure what the initial vision of the system was so am curious: was this it? Has feedback been largely positive or negative? (obviously I mean outside this thread…)

The approach I'm intending to take with this is that since there is some perception that there might be cheating, it's up to us to collect data from the game server about what is happening, then we can confirm whether or not cheating is involved.

If there is no cheating, we will try to demystify the process - that will either come in the form of explaining why what you're seeing isn't cheating, or changing the game so that what you see is less 'suspicious'. We'll be able to give more clarity on that once we have a better understanding of what's actually going on (by looking at real data vs people explaining what they're doing)
