Throwing weapons, short sword and backstab?

Hey Gimli, i've read the post you've put about the incoming changes…

What's the status on throwing weapons? I see no talks about it, do they have any special weapons in their category?

Short swords based on int for damage sounds weird, it is a dexterity based weapon, if you want an int based weapon, why not use staves or tomes or orbs (wearable ones)? It would make a lot more sense.

Any plan to add a backstab ability? It could work in 2 ways, the first way being the enemy does not go for you, the other is that he's not facing you.

Thanks for your time, i'm an old player who used to play this game when it was beta, until it launched, glad it finally seen someone willing to make a free to play approach to it.

The int short swords do sound wierd, but i'll wait on it till I see how it works to understand their reasoning behind it. I am also curious about throwing weapons, I remember using them a fair bit back in the day, and hope they are still a viable option.

Throwing weapons are Dex based.

I've tried making a shadowdancer archetype build (6 str 16 dex 18 int 9 end) with a steel throwing dagger and level 1 in throwing weapons and i could not hit the broad side of a barn door, tried throwing at rats and bats, the darn weapon would miss 90% of the time, what's up with that?

You probably need to level up your Throwing skill!

During the test server i had made a pure dex thief, as level 1 throwing weapon, the difference was by 5 pts, it cannot possibly make this high a difference, can it? I mean we're talking about from nearly hitting everything to missing an elephant in a corridor.
