Wondering mainly if I could get my old acct back being that its a sub acct that was free back in the day due to the fact my father was a GM, and it was the free acct sierra provided us for almost 10 years don't know if this will cause issues of some kind but have all the old chars on it I played as a child and would like to get it back I have several pieces of the information on it but overall wondering if its too old or because it was linked as a sub acct to a GM account unavailable.
I've had my account reinstated by all my characters are gone, is there any way to bring them back?
There was a purge that went on before Norseman as far as I understand and everything before that point is gone completely.
Im talking after norseman, I had this account active recently up until whenever NG stopped billing people. Just came back and realized some changes went on around here, I used the form and they gave me an account with the name I used to log in with, but no toons actually on it.

Oh, yeah, I hadn't noticed the flow of this. The recovered characters are on another server than the one that the majority of players play on. Everyone started from scratch on the new server as of June 1st. You shouldn't have any problem creating a new character with the same name/race/class combo on the new server.
Most of this has been stated here in some form already, but just for clarity:
a) old accounts can be recovered pretty successfully at the link above.
b) accounts should not be confused with characters. Many accounts had characters purged. Even if your characters were purged your account can likely be recovered.
c) if your characters were purged they cannot currently be recovered. There was some initial hope that this might be possible, but we've gotten no follow up word that progress has been made. One should assume at this point that purged characters will not be returning.
d) characters from before June 2018 would only be playable on the old Despothes Grove server even if they are still active on an account or were possible to be restored. Almost no one plays on this old server so unless someone was going to basically play alone on a ghost server there really is no value to old characters anyway, aside from sentimental value.
e) there is no way to transfer old characters to the new server. it is intentional that everyone must start over on Fin Fortress.
f) there is still value in having an old account - whether it has had its characters purged or not - on Fin Fortress as you will qualify for a house plaque if your account is old enough. This has nothing to do with characters - for example my old account had its characters purged in 2002 and has no current characters on Despothes Grove, but it still qualifies for the house plaque on Fin Fortress.

Thanks a lot, It would be nice to have my old stuff back but considering the server is different this makes sense. I was just concerned that if recovery of characters was possible on the new server making a new toon would prevent this. Thanks guys!
